Sandra Truax

Hello Monarch Families,

My name is Mrs. Truax, and I’m honored to serve as your school counselor here at Lisa J. Mails Elementary School. I’m a bilingual counselor (Spanish/English) and proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where I served for seven years. During my time on active duty, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Child & Adolescent Development from California State University, Fullerton. After completing my military service, I followed my passion for supporting students and earned my Master’s in School Counseling and PPS Credential from California State University, Long Beach.

This is my seventh year as a school counselor, and I feel incredibly fortunate to continue doing work that I truly love. As your school counselor, I’m committed to partnering with students, families, teachers, and staff to support every child’s academic, social, and emotional growth. I believe that all students are capable of success, and my goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where they can thrive.
