Meet Mrs. Wallace

Welcome to the Lisa J. Mails Library! I have been the librarian here since March 2013, and I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days surrounded by books, creativity, and curious young minds.

Before becoming a school librarian, I was a freelance graphic designer and have always loved creating, designing, and bringing new ideas to life. My background in art and design continues to inspire the way I approach the library—with a focus on imagination, exploration, and the joy of learning.

Creativity is a huge part of who I am. I enjoy painting, creating art journals and handmade books, drawing, practicing modern calligraphy, and experimenting with all kinds of new creative projects. I believe that creativity grows when we stay curious, try new things, and give ourselves permission to explore.

What I love most about being a librarian is inspiring students and helping them discover the excitement of books, reading, art, and learning. I enjoy working with all of our students, from preschool through 5th grade, and I love finding ways to connect stories and reading with creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on experiences.

The library is a place where students can imagine, discover, create, and share their ideas. Whether you love books, art, or simply learning something new, I hope you feel welcome here!
