Welcome to First Grade!

First grade is a magical year full of curiosity, creativity, and big discoveries, and our classroom is a place where learning comes alive in colorful and imaginative ways. This year, students will grow as readers, writers, and mathematicians while also learning how to think, create, and express themselves with confidence.

In our classroom, creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We explore ideas through art, storytelling, hands-on activities, movement, and playful learning experiences that help children make meaningful connections. Every child is encouraged to experiment, imagine, and see themselves as an artist, a problem-solver, and a thinker.

We also focus on building a kind and caring classroom community where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and celebrate each other’s ideas. Independence, responsibility, and a love of learning grow day by day as we work and create together.

I look forward to partnering with families to make first grade a joyful year filled with imagination, growth, and plenty of “I did it!” moments.
