Welcome to Third Grade!

Third grade is a year of big learning leaps, growing independence, and deeper thinking. Students begin to move from “learning to read” to “reading to learn,” and from basic skills to applying their knowledge in more meaningful and creative ways.

In our classroom, we build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, and thoughtful discussions. Students are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and develop confidence as learners and problem-solvers.

Just as important as academics, we focus on building a kind, respectful classroom community where every child feels safe, supported, and included. We practice responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance as we grow together throughout the year.

I look forward to partnering with families to make third grade a year filled with curiosity, growth, and lots of “aha!” moments.
